Christopher Haun here.
Jobbies. On most days, I’m an IT Pro working with Microsoft 365 suite of technologies–SharePoint, Power Platform, Copilot for M365, Azure, etc. I’m a proletarian in the fourth industrial revolution. I’ve been working professional with Microsoft technologies (SharePoint, IIS, Windows, etc.) for a couple of decades. Before that I worked as a framing carpenter in Texas and Colorado, as a commercial fisherman (for salmon and Dungeness crabs) in Southeast Alaska, and in the timber industry in Ketchikan, Alaska.
Hobbies. I’m a bit of a fauxlosopher. That’s like a philosopher but not really a real philosopher. On evenings and weekends, I dabble in Christian theology, biblical studies, metaphysics, ethics, history, futurism, and classical Christian apologetics.
As to religious views, I’m a classical theist and a Bible-based Christian. My hope for solving the great problems of moral guilt, physical death, and eternal destiny lay solely on the person and work of the crucified-and-risen Lord Jesus Christ. My hope for the eventual solving of the problem of evil for the entire world is also invested in the Lord Jesus Christ in his second coming and the future judgments over which he presides. You can check out my doctrinal statement here and check out my gospel (good news!) here. If more labels are helpful, consider me a conservative, protestant, evangelical, non-denominational, baptistic, protestant, dispensational, premillennial, and moderate-calvinist (but not a monergist). I’m attending Tyndale Bible Church of Fort Worth, Texas, these days and enjoying the teaching there. My favorite Systematic Theology is by Norman Geisler but I also appreciate L.S. Chafer’s Systematic Theology, Grudem’s Systematic Theology, and Erickson’s Christian Theology.
Recreationally, I enjoy mountain biking, hiking, slow smoke barbecuing, grilling, Brazilian jiujitsu, judo, gardening, researching, reading, and writing, speaking. My main areas of interest are history, biblical studies, theology, apologetics, science, philosophy, ethics, and the ethics of emerging technologies.
Dietarily, I have a few years of experience with the carnivore diet, the ketovore diet, ketogenic diets, low inflammation, low carb, and primal/paleo-diets.
Academically, I have a master’s degree in theology (with a concentration on classical Christian apologetics) from Veritas International University and am considering the possibility of starting a PhD program. My undergraduate work was in biblical studies at Tyndale Theological Biblical Institute and Theological Seminary.
Voluntarily, I’m the director and editor-in-chief at Bastion Books, a small, agile, conservative evangelical Christian book publishing company that Norman L. Geisler and I started in 2013. I also do some light webmaster-wordpress work for normangeisler.com and defendinginerrancy.com. I have also done a bit of volunteer work for the International Society of Christian Apologetics over the years.
Politically, socially, economically, I lean towards the libertarian platform, Austrian economics, anarcho-capitalism, and abject minimalism when it comes to small government. I could also settle for the libertarian wing of the Republican party if someone like Thomas Massie or Rand Paul or Ron Paul were running for office. I’m very much anti-communist, anti-marxist, anti-socialist, anti-centralism, anti-totalitarianism, anti-authoritarianism, anti-fascism (not as a euphemism for marxist), anti-murder, anti-Keynesian, anti-abortion, anti-genocide, and anti-democide. While agreeing with the NAP (non-aggression principle), and being generally anti-war, I also believe in just war theory. I have conservative values but do not necessarily believe they should be legislated for all and enforced upon all. I tend to be favorable towards the Texas Nationalist Movement (#TEXIT) and other non-violent secession/independence movements.
Feel free to contact me about anything.
